A lot of Speciality Shops that Support Restaurants

If you visit Kappabashi Dougu Street, you can see speciality shops including those of food sample.

These shops as a whole provide almost everything about restaurants including kitchen facilities, kitchen knives and dishes. This street is located between Ueno and Asakusa. Its length is about 800 meters. Also, it is interesting to see food sample that is almost real. In the central area of this street, there is the golden statue of Kappa Kawataro.

"Kappabashi Dougu Festival" is held around October 9, the day of tools.

It is important to check that a larger number of shops in this street are closed on Sundays, while other shops open.

It has a history that started by a few shops of used articles around 1912. It is a large shopping street that has about 170 specialiity shops at commercial area in Nishi-Asakusa, Taito City, Tokyo. Its nearest station is Tawaramachi station.

On a different note, while there is a street between Ueno and Asakusa called Asakusa Dori, it is also called "Butsudan Dori" as there are a lot of shops of Buddhist objects on the south side of the road.
