Major Japanese shopping street

If you visit Ginza Central Street, you can walk around a major Japanese shopping street.

It is about 1 kilometer long between Kyobashi in the north side and Shinbashi in the south side. In particular, the clock of Ginza Wako at Ginza 4-chome crossing is a landmark of Ginza.

While the image of Ginza used to be luxuary stores like Tiffany and established department stores like Ginza Mitsukoshi, Ginza becomes comprehensive shopping area that includes trendsetting stores like Apple Store Ginza and fast fashion flagship stores like UNIQLO.

It becomes pedestrian paradise on Saturday, Sunday, and national holidays.

It has a history that Tokugawa Shogunate set the office to make silver coins in 1612 in Edo period (1603-1867).

It is a large straight shopping street from Ginza 1-chome to Ginza 8-chome in Ginza, Chuo City, Tokyo. Its nearest station is Ginza station.
