Aquarium that shows bluefin tunas

If you visit Tokyo Sea Life Park, you can see bluefin tunas.

You can find bluefin tunas in a large donut-shaped aqua tank (2,200 tons) of "Voyagers of the Sea: Tuna." You can see swarmings of bluefin tunas from "Aqua Theater."

You can also look at sharks such as scallopped hammerheads in an aqua tank of "Voyagers of the Sea: Shark." There are also swarmings of sardines such as Japanese anchovies.

At "Penguins," there is a large outdoor exhibition facility to show penguins such as Humboldt penguins. You can see penguins not only walking on a ground but also swimming in a pool. Walking down the steps, you can also see penguins moving in the water from a side window. In a separated area, you can look at fairy penguins.

There are more than 600 kinds of creatures in this aquarium.

At "The Seas of the World," you can comprehensively see creatures in various areas of the world including the Pacific Ocean, The Atlantic Ocean, The Indian Ocean, The Caribbean Sea, The Arctic Ocean and The Antarctic Ocean. You can find finespotted Jawfishes in an aqua tank of "Baja California" and a leafy seadragon in an aqua tank of "Western Australia." You can look at creatures including a Japanese giant crab in aqua tanks of "Deep Sea."

At "The Sea of Tokyo," you can see creatures that live in Tokyo Bay, Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. Walking through the catwalk, you can also see aqua tanks from the above.

In the open field of "Nature Along the Water's Edge," a pond and a mountain stream are reproduced. From inside of "Freshwater Life House," you can see many kinds of creatures including broadstriped bitterlings in the pond and ayu sweetfishes in the mountain stream.

It opened in 1989. It is a middle-sized public aquarium of Tokyo Metropolis at Kasai Rinkai Park in Kasai, Edogawa City, Tokyo. Its nearest station is Kasai-Rinkai-Koen station.

Closed Day
This aquarium is closed every Wednesday, year-end and new year holiday from December 29 to January 1. In case that Monday is either a national holiday or a substitute holiday, this aquarium opens on Monday and closes on the following weekday. Also, it opens on Wednesday temporarily.

Admissions Fee
It is 700-yen for adults, 250-yen for junior high school students outside Tokyo, and 350-yen for those aged 65 and over. It is free for elementary school students, and junior high school students that live or go to school in Tokyo. It is necessary for junior high school students to show student handbook.
