Observatory that has landscape with Shinkansen

If you visit Hokutopia Observatory, you can see several kinds of trains including Shinkansen.

This observatory is one of the best places to see trains in Tokyo. In particular, you can see some kinds of Shinkansen including Tohoku Shinkansen and Joetsu Shinkansen run between Ueno Station and Omiya Station from this observatory. Also, you can see other kinds of trains including sky blue train cars of Keihin-Tohoku Line that run around Oji Station, streetcars of Toden Arakawa Line that run around Oji-Ekimae Station and the monorail called Asukarugo that runs along the slope of Asukayama Park. For your information, if you visit Asukayama Park near this observatory, you will be able to see open air display of D51 steam locomotive and Toden Arakawa Line.

Hokutopia Observatory consists of three observatory spaces at the 17th floor in Hokutopia, a cultural facility of Kita City. You will be able to see both Tokyo and Saitama areas from the north of central Tokyo. You can enjoy seeing Saitama New Downtown to the northwest, Sumida River to the northeast and Tokyo Skytree® to the southeast in addition to surrounding landscape of Kita City including Asukayama Park. When I visit this observatory, I enjoy dynamically curved Sumida River and Arakawa River as well as Shinkansen.

It opened in 1990. It is a small public observatory of Kita City at Hokutopia in Oji, Kita City, Tokyo. Its nearest station is Oji Station.

On a different note, if you like to see trains from observatories, I suggest that you see Tokaido Shinkansen from World Trade Center Seaside Top, Sobu Line and Keisei Line from I・Linktown Observatory and Tokyu Setagaya Line from Carrot Tower Observatory.
