New national art museum, opened in 2007, that has unique architectural building

If you visit The National Art Center, Tokyo, you can appreciate art works according to the theme of exhibitions.

Instead of maintaining a permanent collection, it makes the most of a total of 14,000 square meters of exhibition space, one of the largest in Japan, and focuses on serving as a venue for various art exhibitions. The center plays a role in platform that holds several exhibitions such as exhibitions organized by The National Art Center, Tokyo, and exhibitions organized by artist associations simultaneously like Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum at Ueno Onshi Park in Taito City, Tokyo.

For example, the past exhibition named "Divisionism from Van Gogh and Seurat to Mondrian" (from October 4, 2013 (Friday) to December 23, 2013 (Monday, national holiday)) explained the flow and background from impressionism to divisionism by masterpieces including "The Sower" by Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890).

It is interesting to see the center from architectural point of view. It has a lobby with curved transparent glass-wall that was designed by Kisho Kurokawa (1934-2007).

It opened in 2007. It is a large national art museum at commercial area in Roppongi, Minato City, Tokyo. Its nearest station is Nogizaka station.
