If you visit New National Theatre, Tokyo, you can see opera performance on performance days.

It is an opera theatre of procenium type. It is the first four-staged opera house in Japan.

Performances of western performing such as opera and ballet art are held. As for opera, in 2015 season, La Traviata and Der Rosenkavalier are to be held. As for ballet, in 2015 season, Swan Lake and Tales of Hoffmann are to be held.

It opened in 1997. It is a large national opera house with 1,814 seats at commercial area adjacent to Tokyo Opera City in Hon-Machi, Shibuya City, Tokyo. Its nearest station is Hatsudai station.
