Museum that shows the opportunity of invention about instant noodles

If you visit CUPNOODLES MUSEUM, you can enjoy knowing the importance of invention and finding in this experience-oriented museum.

Historically, Momofuku Ando (1910-2007), founder of Nissin Food Products, invented Chicken Ramen, the first instant noodle in the world, and Cup Noodles, the first cup noodle in the world.

At "Instant Noodles History Cube," you can learn the history of instant noodles that started from Chicken Ramen, seeing more than 3,000 packages. Also, at "Momofuku's Work Shed," you can find the replicated work shed where Chicken Ramen was invented. Moreover, you can not only know the footprints of Momofuku Ando at "The Momofuku Ando History" but also understand Creative Thinking of Momofuku Ando who made many inventions at "Creative Thinking Box."

There are some attractions (partly pay options). In particular, you can make Chicken Ramen at "Chicken Ramen Factory" and your own Cup Noodles at "My CUPNOODLES Factory." Moreover, you can have various kinds of noodles in 8 countries at "NOODLES BAZAAR -WORLD NOODLES ROAD-."

It is an experience-oriented museum at commercial area, Minatomirai 21, in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. It opened in 2011.

For your information, there is the Momofuku Ando Instant Ramen Museum in Ikeda City, Osaka Prefecture.

Necessary Time
It is estimated that it is about 2 hours in a regular pace, about 1 hour in a hurried pace, and about 3 hours in a slow pace. For your information, it takes 90 minutes at Chicken Ramen Factory and about 45 minutes at My Cupnoodles Factory.

Opening Hour
This museum opens from 10:00 to 18:00 (last entry: 17:00).

Closed Day
This museum is closed every Tuesday, and year-end and new year holiday. In case that Tuesday is either a national holiday or a substitute holiday, this museum opens on Tuesday and closes on the following weekday.

Admissions Fee
It is 500-yen for university students and adults. It is free for high school students and under. Also, it is neccesary to pay for attractions and food.

It takes about 8 minutes from Minatomirai Station on foot.
