Buddhist temple with Main Hall of Hiyoku-Irimoya-Zukuri Style

If you visit Hokekyoji Temple, you can see Soshido Hall of Hiyoku-Irimoya-Zukuri Style.

This hall is selected as Important Cultural Property of Japan, along with 5-Story Pagoda, Hokkedo Hall and Shisokumon Gate.

You can also look at Big Buddha, Kishimojindo Hall, Niomon Gate, Pebbles called "Sazare-Ishi Stone" and so on. Moreover, there is also a large gingko tree called "Naki-Icho."

This temple is famous for cherry blossoms. You can see a row of cherry trees along the approach and in the temple grounds around Soshido Hall. The high season is around from late March to early April, while it changes according to weather conditions.

It has a history since 1260. It is a middle-sized head Buddhist temple of Nichiren Sect in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture. Its nearest station is Nakayama station.
