It is the largest soccer-specific stadium in Japan. It has upper and lower stands beside the ground, while there is only lower stand behind the goal areas. You can watch dynamic soccer games, partly because the ground and seats are close.

In FIFA World Cup™ in 2002, several soccer games including a semi-final game between Brazil and Turkey were held. Also, Japan National Team sometimes plays its international games. Urawa Reds is a professional soccer team that belongs to J-League Division 1. Originally, it was established as "Nakanihon Heavy Industries Soccer Club" in 1950. Its team color is red. It is one of the largest soccer clubs in Japan. The soccer game between Urawa Reds and Gamba Osaka are called "National Derby." Also, the soccer game between Urawa Reds and Omiya Ardija are called "Saitama Derby." It won the championship at AFC Champion League and the third Prize at FIFA Club World Cup™ in 2007. The team showed good performance with attractive offence and strong defense, and it was in the 2nd out of 18 teams at J-League Division 1 in 2014 season.

Mr. Mihailo Petrovic (1957-Present) has been the team manager since 2012. There are a lot of star players including Mr. Shinzo Koroki (1986-Present), Mr. Yosuke Kashiwagi (1987-Present), Mr. Yuki Abe (1981-Present), Mr. Keita Suzuki (1981-Present), Mr. Tomoaki Makino (1987-Present), and Mr. Shusaku Nishikawa (1986-Present) in 2015 season.

Urawa Reds supporters create an enthusiastic atmosphere. They cheer "We are Reds!" at the top of their voices. It is known that Urawa Reds has the largest number of audiences among J-League soccer teams on average.

It opened in 2001. It is a large public soccer-specific stadium of Saitama Prefecture with 63,700 seats at Saitama Stadium 2002 Park in Urawa-Misono, Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture. Its nearest station is Urawa-Misono station.
