Symbol Tower of Yokohama Port

If you visit Yokohama Marine Tower, you can see 360-degree view from Yokohama Port area.

It is a beautiful streamline tower that has 2-story observatory. The upper observation floor is 94 meter high and the lower observation floor is 91 meter high. After purchasing a ticket at the front of the 1st floor, you move to the 2nd floor. Then, you go up to the upper observation floor by special elevator, seeing the signals about the height of 20, 40, 60, and 80 meters on the screen.

From considerable height, you can view Yokohama City including NYK Hikawamaru Ship in the north, Yokohama Bay Bridge in the east, Motomachi Shopping Street in the south, and China Town in the west.

It is wonderful to see the scenery of 296-meter high Yokohama Landmark Tower, crescent-shaped Yokohama Grand Intercontinental Hotel in the motif of a sail, Roof Floor called "Kujira-no-Senaka" at Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal.

You can also take a bird's view of geometrically-designed central plaza and sunken flower bed in Yamashita Park. Moreover, you can look around gantry cranes in Honmoku Pier. If the weather permits, you can see Mt. Fuji.

At night, you can see beautiful night scenery of Yokohama City. In particular, the night scenery of Minatomirai 21 District has a colorful atmosphere, partly thanks to "Cosmo Clock 21," a lit-up large Ferris wheel in Yokohama Cosmo World. Also, lit-up Yokohama Marine Tower brightens Yokohama Port area.

Like Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Skytree®, you can see below through glass floor at the lower floor of 2-story observatory.

You can see an old light of the light house and an art work of "Past and Present of Yokohama" drawn by Kiyoshi Yamashita (1922-1971) at the 1st floor.

"Steps de Go! Go!" is a special event. You can walk up 335 steps of stairs to the 2-story observatory. This event is basically held on Saturday and Sunday once a month from March to November. While it is usually held in the day, it is held at night in summer. This event can be cancelled due to heavy weather conditions.

It opened in 1961 as one of the 100-year anniversary of the Opening of Yokohama Port. Thanks to the renewal in 2009, there are three restaurants, a multi-purpose hall and a souvenir shop in this tower. It is located in the historic area, Yamashita-cho, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Its nearest station is Motomachi-Chukagai Station.
