Zoo that has "Squirrel Trail"

If you visit Inokashira Park Zoo, you can see many kinds of animals closely.

Zoo is located in Main Park. You can see animals including Hanako, an Asian elephant, that has lived for the longest time among elephants in Japan. In particular, this zoo leaves squirrels loose at "Squirrel Trail." You can also see a racoon and Humboldt penguins.

There is also Sculpture Museum in Main Park. You can see sculpture works created by Seibo Kitamura (1884-1987) at House A, House B, Atelier, and outdoor area. You can see the life-size prototype of Peace Statue in Nagasaki at House A. It is 9.7 meter high. There is also one-fourth scale work of the Peace Statue at Atelier. Special exhibitions are occasionally held at House B.

In the detached lakeside area, there is Aquatic Life Park. You can look at various kinds of birds such as cranes and swans. You can see mandarin ducks with beautiful feathers from autumn to spring. You can also see Tokyo Butterfly Bitterling and a Japanese Giant Salamander at Aquatic Life House.

It opened in 1924. It is a middle-sized public zoo of Tokyo Metropolis in Inokashira Onshi Park in Kichijoji, Musashino City, Tokyo. Its nearest station is Kichijoji station and so on.

Necessary Time
It is estimated that it is about 2 hours in a regular pace, about 1.5 hours in a hurried page, and about 2.5 hours in a slow page.

Opening Hour
This zoo opens from 9:30 to 17:00 (last entry: 16:00). Also, it changes opening hour temporarily.

Closed Day
This zoo is closed every Monday and year-end and new year holiday from December 29 to January 1.In case that Monday is either a national holiday or a substitute holiday, this zoo opens on Monday and closes on the following weekday. Also, it opens on Monday temporarily.

Admissions Fee
It is 400-yen for adults, 150-yen for junior high school students outside Tokyo, and 200-yen for those aged 65 and over. It is free for elementary school students, and junior high school students that live and go to school in Tokyo. It is free on Green Day of May 4, Opening Memorial Day of May 17, and Tokyo Citizens Day of October 1.

It takes about 10 minutes from Kichijoji Station on foot. Also, it is accessible from Mitaka Station through "Kaze no Sanpo Michi," promenade of wind, on foot.
