Beautiful Flower Garden that has Japanese atmosphere
If you visit Keio Mogusaen, you can see beautiful flowers and trees from season to season.
This garden has a Japanese atmosphere that "Shorenan House," a traditional Japanese-style house with a thatched roof, is well harmonized with its surrounding nature. In particular, you can see wonderful scenery during the high season of colored leaves of autumn around from mid-November to early December.
It is famous for plum blossoms. There are about 500 plum trees including "Jushobai Plum Tree" in front of Shorenan House. "Plum Festival" is held around from early February to early March.
There is an observatory on a hilly area. You can see stereoscopic view of this flower garden. If the weather permits, you can also look around the central part of Tokyo including skyscrapers in Shinjuku and Tokyo Skytree®.
Also, there are monuments about literary works of Bokusui Wakayama (1885-1928) and Basho Matsuo (1644-1694).
It opened in 1887, and, as a result of transfer, became Keio Mogusaen in 1957. It is a middle-sized private garden at residential area in Mogusa, Hino City, Tokyo. Its nearest station is Mogusaen station.
