Large Park that scenery of flower is beautiful

If you visit Showa Kinen Park, you can see colorful landscape like a carpet of flowers.

This park is like a flower garden. There are a wide variety of flowers and trees from season to season.

It is famous for plum blossoms, cherry blossoms and ginkgo trees. The high season of plum blossom is around from late winter to early spring, that of cherry blossoms is in spring, and that of colored leaves of ginkgo trees is around from late autumn to early winter.

You can see a large zelkova tree in the center of the open field.

You can see a Japanese circuit garden in this park. Walking around the large pond, you can see the changing scenery. This Japanese garden has a modern atmosphere, compared with "Daimyo" gardens such as Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens and Rikugien Gardens.

You can also appreciate Japanese bonsai trees at "Bonsai-En Garden" adjacent to this Japanese garden.

There are Komorebi-no-Oka Hill and Komorebi-no-Sato Village. While you can see the scenery of the surrounding areas from the observatory on Komorebi-no-Oka Hill, you can see rice fields and vegetable fields as well as farm houses a water wheel in the Komorebi-no-Sato Village.

Also, you can see a lot of boats at Waterfowl Lake.

Various kinds of events are held in this park. Showa Kinen Park Firework Event of Tachikawa Festival is held in summer.

It opened in 1983. It is a large national park at commercial area in Midori-Cho, Tachikawa City, Tokyo. Its nearest station is Tachikawa station and so on.

This park is closed on the 4th Monday of February and its following day, and year-end and new year holiday from December 31 to January 1.

Admissions Fee
It is 410-yen for those aged 15 and over, 80-yen for elementary school and junior high school students, and 210-yen for those aged 65 and over. It is free for infants. It is free on spring urban green movement of April 12, 2015 (Sunday), Showa Day of April 29, 2015 (Wednesday, national holiday), and autumn urban green month of October 18, 2015 (Sunday) and October 25, 2015 (Sunday).
